The Human foot is an incredibly strong and complex structure containing 26 bones, 33 Joints and more than 100 Muscles, Tendons and Ligaments. As a result of this complexity our feet are incredibly adaptable, with the ability to move in a variety of different ways.
In Iyengar Yoga we pay a lot of importance on how our feet work in yoga poses and we become more aware of how our feet affects not only our poses, but also importantly our posture in every day life.. By practicing yoga we awaken our feet, restoring the natural aliveness, strength and adaptability of the feet.
So go on, spread your toes, walk barefoot at home ( or whenever you can!!) come to yoga and stay connected to your feet.
